I’ve started a new job. I am now an EC Teacher Assistant for an Elementary school that is about an hour away from where I live. So, the commute is awful, but I really like what I do. I basically act as a tutor, and I pull out 2 to 4 kids at a time and we work on either reading or math. I see 9 groups of kids a day and I get to work with each group for 30-45 minutes. All of those short sessions really make my day fly by, on the downside though, the really end up wearing me out…..
I have to mention that it’s been a rough transition for me going from being a stay at home mom, to being a working mom again. I miss Henry so much, I feel like there are days where I barely get to see him I feel like I’m missing out on all of this wonderful time with him. And, since I’m so worn out when I get home, it’s hard for me to even take advantage of playing with him.
One good thing about having a job again is health insurance! My insurance starts on April 1st, and I can’t wait!! I know that there is something wrong with me. I’m exhausted all the time, and in addition to the exhaustion, I sleep horribly. My fitbit tracks my sleep, and I only seem to get about 4 hours and 45 minutes of sleep a night. Which is broken up into 30-45 minutes segments. So….no true rest for me. Also, my hair is falling out, and not just a little bit, but a lot. You can see the entire curvature of my scalp through my hair…..it’s absolutely great for my self-esteem. So, as soon as my insurance kicks in (only 4 more days) I’m going to the doctor to get a full work up.
Our house is still on the market. The deal that we had back in October fell through when the inspection report came back. We’ve fixed most everything on the report, but the buyers still ran….ugh. We just signed a contract with another Realtor, and lowered our asking price. So, hopefully it’ll sell soon so that J and I can move closer to where our jobs are.
Henry is doing great. He’s growing so much!! He’s started going to the Little Gym once a week. J and I were noticing that he’s still lagging behind on his gross motor skills, so we decided to enroll him in a program that will really help with it. And, it’s working. His running, jumping and hopping are getting so much better. He’s getting stronger and more coordinated too. He’s still very hesitant at times, and we’re working on that, but overall he’s doing great.
I think that’s about it for now. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get to a computer to write more. I miss updating on this space.
